Baby Shower Card

I have another card to share today using the gorgeous dies from Doohickey Volume 25, Bella Notte.  I love this set so much!

How cute are these little clouds?  I have combined them with the moon and hanging star that I used on my last card.  Again I have cut the hanging star in glitter cardstock and patterned paper so that I could create a two colour die cut.  The white panel is also cut with a Magnolia die, the largest die from the Vintage Frames and Tags die set.

I have embossed the Baby Shower sentiment, from the You Are Invited Collection, with silver embossing powder.  The pink paper is from Maja Designs Vintage Summer Basics paper collection.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Don't Let Anyone Steal Your Dreams

Good morning!  I have another card to share with you today using the gorgeous dies from Doohickey Volume 25 - Bella Notte.  The black paper is from Maja Design's Celebration Collection.  I used the frame Doohickey from Vintage Box 6 for the card base.

I have used all of the star dies, the moon and the star on a ribbon from the new collection.  The stars and moon have been used to cut out windows to show the glitter card behind and the star on a ribbon has been cut from blue paper and glitter card.  I have then cut off the blue star so that the ribbon and star are different colours.  The sentiment is a little hard to read on the photo but is clearer in real life.  It says "Don't let anyone steal your dreams.  It's your dream not theirs!".  It comes with Pin Not Tilda from the World Wide Web Collection.  I had several attempts at the embossing: gold didn't look right, and neither did copper.  I wanted it to match the rose gold glitter cardstock.  I decided to try mixing the two together and it worked perfectly!

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  Stay safe!

Van Gogh Inspired Cafe Card

Good morning!  I am so excited to share my first card using the gorgeous Bella Notte Doohickey dies with you.  I had so much fun making this!  As soon as I saw the dies they reminded me of sitting on a restaurant terrace in the evening.  This in turn made me think of Van Gogh's The Cafe Terrace at Night painting.  I tried to recreate it, with some artistic licence of adding the lights, with a 3D scene card.

I used the Edwin's Town from the Spring Collection, stamped in black onto black cardstock, so that I could cut them out for the silhouettes in the background.  I created the sky using Distress inks and splashing with water to create the white droplets as in Van Gogh's painting.

I just love all of the dies in this set!  On the front of the card I have used the lamp post and the potted plant.  I have used the Cafe Chair and French Tea Party stamps from the Summer Memories Collection to create the cafe table and chairs.  As always they are painted with Distress Inks.

I ued the wall die to create the cobbled street, inking the edges of all the stones with Walnut Stain Distress ink before setting back in the 'cement'.  All of the papers on the card are by Maja Design from various collections.

I added part of a lamppost in the background so that it looks like it is in the distance and used the leaves from the potted plant die to add the overhanging trees.

My favourite dies from this new set are the fairy lights!  How cute are these?  I have added them to the lamppost at the front and then attached them to different sections in the background so that it looks like the street is adorned with lights.

Another aspect not in the painting, but I thought it be great if this little cafe had a view of the Eiffel. Tower, cut in glitter cardstock to give the appearance of being lit up at night.

Craft Heaven DT - Best Tea-cher Ever!

Good evening!  I hope my post finds you all safe and well in these worrying times.  It has been very hot and sunny the past few days here so I decided to spend some time painting an image in the garden instead of my craft room.  I have made a teacher thank you card with the resulting image, the gorgeous Best Tea-cher Ever stamp set from the Live, Laugh, Love Collection.

I have used all of the stamps in the set except the hearts and kisses stamp and layered the sentiment over parts of the image for a quirky look.  As always I have painted the images with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.

I have used the cup, saucer and teapot dies from Doohickey Volume 14, Afternoon Tea.  The papers are from Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics Collection.

The gorgeous chipboard piece is by Laserowe.  I have added some Gesso to it here and there as well as around the edges of the card.

The lace and roses are from Craft Heaven.I made some cute tea bags using the dies from Volume 14 too.  I thought it would be fun to make them out of cheesecloth.  The 'tea leaves' are brown Flower Soft.  I love how they turned out!

Craft Heaven DT - Rose Princess Tilda

Good afternoon!  I hope my post finds you safe and well, wherever you are around the world.  Today's card features the gorgeous Rose Princess Tilda and paper from Pion Design's Cherry Blossom Lane collection.  This paper is so pretty!  I have used both sides on my card.

I have painted Tilda with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and added dots to her cheeks and dress with a white gel pen.

There is a wonderful selection of chipboard pieces in the Craft Heaven shop, there are the Baby Lily set.  These come with a backing cut out so that you can layer them up but I have used them on their own as I wanted a more delicate look.  The tiny blossoms are from the store too.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Pirate Pop Up Card

Good afternoon, I hope you're safe and well!  I thought I would share a card I made for a tutorial on the Magnolia Youtube Channel a few weeks ago, as I have just adapted the card to give to my nephew by adding the number 7 to it.

The card features the cute pirates from the You Arrr Amazing and the Treasure Art Stamp sets, painted using the no lines technique.

The Jolly Roger was embossed with white embossing powder.

I have used the Spruce Twig Doohickey die from the Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection to create the palm trees.

The wave Doohickey is from Volume 1.  I have also used the Feather Doohickey and the sentiment from the You Arrr Amazing stamp set.

I hope you like it.  Check out the video tutorial if you would like to have a go at making something similar yourself.  Thanks for looking!
