Craft Heaven DT - Nutcracker Christmas Card

Today I have a special card to show you that I have created to give to my daughter this Christmas using gorgeous Christmas papers from Maja Design's Christmas Season collection: Deck the Halls and Vintage Red Light.  I have adorned the 'belly band' with some pretty vintage seam binding and a snowflake charm from Craft Heaven.

Remove the 'belly band' and we glimpse the hint of a snow scene created with Magnolia Doohickey dies.  What could be waiting for us inside?

The Nutcracker ballet!

Here is the full scene of the Sugar Plum fairy dancing while the Nutcracker looks on.  I have added sweet gingerbread houses, glittery trees and snowflakes to create the magical land of sweets!

As always I have painted the images with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  My Sugar Plum fairy is Spellbound Tilda from the Spellbound Kit.  I removed her ice-skate by removing the ink from that part of the stamp before stamping so that she is a ballerina.  For the Nutcracker I have used Tilda from the Christmas Party Collection.  I have added tiny star shaped gems from my stash around the pair.

I have used the Theatre Curtain from the Once Upon a Time Collection to frame the 'stage'.  To get the opposite curtain I have reverse stamped it.  The curtains are also painted with Distress Inks.

I have used the Tim Holtz Pine Tree die to cut the large, glittery tree and Doohickeys for the rest of the scene.  The snowflakes are from Doohickey Volume 23.  I have added Stardust Stickles to the snow on the gingerbread houses and the white trees.

The large snowflakes on the front are from Vintage Box Volume 4.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  To discover more projects using the gorgeous Maja Design Christmas papers pop over to the Craft Heaven Blog.

TOMIC Inspiration Post - Christmas in August

Good morning!  I am a little late with my inspiration post this month as I have been on holiday and didn't get chance to schedule it before I left.  Today I have another Christmas card to share using one of my favourite Christmas stamps from Magnolia- Frozen Tilda.

I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and added some snowflakes with a white gel pen.

The card shape, snowflakes and pine branch have been cut with Doohickey dies from Vintage Box 4 which was recently available on Hochanda.

The snowflakes look so pretty and sparkly cut from glitter paper with a gem in the centre!

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to start your Chrismtas cards!

Frozen Tilda

Good evening!  I have my inspirational piece for Craft Heaven today using the incredibly cute Frozen Tilda from the Christmas Party Collection from 2017.  I've also used some Pion Design and Maja Design Christmas papers.

I have painted Tilda with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and added some white dots for snow and on her cheeks.  I've also added Stardust Stickles around her feet and to the snowflakes.

The sentiment comes with Starlight Kit and I have embossed it in silver.  The lace is from Craft Heaven and I have used Doohickey dies to cut the snowflakes.

I have used the Heart Tag Doohickey for the tags and added some lace and bells.

I have also used the Slender Firs Doohickey to cut the trees.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Christmas in April

Good morning!  Today's piece for Craft Heaven is another Christmas card.  I'm doing well so far keeping to my promise of making one a month - I've only missed February!  I'm determined not to have that last minute dash this year!  This time I've made a shaker card - I just love these at Christmas!
I had to use Frozen Tilda - she reminds me so much of the snowman shaped 'snow globe' we had when I was a child.  I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and used the Old Swedish Church from the A Christmas Story collection to create the scene behind her.
To create the frame for the shaker card I used the snow scene Doohickey Kit Volume 2 but spaced the top and bottom apart to make it big enough to surround the scene.  I've then used the snowflake border from the same kit and the bottom of the snow scene again to create the front of the card.
I also used the off cut stars from the top of the snow scene to create a sprinkling of stars next to the sentiment.
The sentiment is from the Starlight Kit and I have embossed it with silver embossing powder.
I created the flower spray with flowers and berries from my stash and some leaves and twigs cut with dies from Volume 2.
The gorgeous lace is from Kraft Heaven and so is the Maja Design paper.
Here's Tilda in a snowstorm when you shake the card!
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

The Greatest Showman Birthday Card

Good morning!  Today I have a very special card to show you that I made for my daughter's 10th birthday.  She is obsessed with The Greatest Showman at the moment so I had the idea to create a card on that theme!  I designed the tent shaped card freehand and used a Doohickey die to cut the fancy shape at the top of the curtains.
I thought Elephant Show Tilda from the Little Moscow collection was perfect to represent Anne Wheeler and painted her with pink hair to suit!  All of the images have been painted with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I have also painted her hair and costume with a Wink of Stella pen for that essential sparkle.  The swing is also a Magnolia stamp, from the Magnolia and Lilacs collection.
Little Trumpety with Bow was also perfect for this card.  He's so cute!
Tilda from the Christmas Party Collection is my representation of P T Barnum lol.  A pity there isn't an Edwin in this outfit!  I have popped her on the Christmas Lace Bench from the Aspen Holiday collection.
I have used the balloon Doohickey dies for the balloons at both sides of the tent.
The amazing star garland is from a previous Doohickey kit and I have also used the Flags Doohickey die on the top of the tent.  The number 10 was cut with a Tim Holtz die.
I used the banner from a previous Doohickey kit and the off stars from the star garland on the base of the card.
Here is the card from the side...

...and from the top!
I hope you like it and thanks for looking!
I have prepared a little video to show how the card opens out.  Check it out below!
