Spring Shadow Box Card

Good evening!  I'm a little late blogging my All About Magnolia post today as it was back to work after the Easter holiday (sad face).  This month over at All About Magnolia Challenge our theme is 'All About Spring'.  A perfect excuse to use the super sweet Tilda With Little Chickens from the Sunbeam Collection.

I have made a shadow box card of Tilda standing underneath the Cherry Blossoms.  I love the sight of Cherry Blossom in the spring, I have one in my garden and it always cheers me up to see it!  I spent a very long time die cutting the tiny little lilac flowers from the Lilac Doohickey from last year's Summer Collection to create the blossom on the trees and all of the fallen blossom on the floor.  I have a photo of my daughter dressed from head to toe in pink, standing in a wood of pink Azalea that is above her and on the floor: this was the inspiration for this scene.

I filled the rest of the card with things that come to mind for me when I think of spring.  Primroses using some Prima flowers of the correct shade, umbrellas using the Umbrella Doohickey and some birds using a die from Vintage Box 5.

The leaf sprigs were also cut with a die from Vintage Box 5 and I added a few blossoms to them with the Lilac die.  The papers are all by Maja Design.

Tutu Thank You

Good morning!  Today I'd like to share a thank you card I made for a lovely neighbour who made my daughter's first tutu recently.  Of course I had to put a tutu on it and the Tim Holtz Sewing Room die came in rather handy!
I cut the tailor's dummy from thick brown cardstock and sticky back canvas and cut the canvas to suite the top of a tutu.  All the edges have been inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I used lots of folded tulle to create the tutu.
I used the buttons and cotton bobbins from the Tim Holtz die too.  The lace is from Craft Heaven and the flowers are from my stash.
I also used the Magnolia Doohickey sewing machine, cut from black cardstock and kraft cardstock for the bobbin.  I've even threaded it with cotton!
My favourite 'thank you' die across the centre of the card.  The background paper is from a Magnolia kit.
I used button twine from my stash on the bobbins.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Tilda With Angel The Horse

Good morning!  Today's card for Craft Heaven features the super cute Tilda with Angel the Horse.  My daughter's friend has her own horse so I painted the horse to look like hers.  The papers are by Maja Design, Celebrations collection.
As always I have painted the image with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.
To make it look like Tilda and Angel were coming out of the a stable I used the window Doohickey from Volume 4 and cut away the window frame, leaving just the shutters.
I used the Lovely Fence Doohickey in front of the image, the medallion from the Recipe Card colletion and the heart tag from Doohickey Volume 13.  The lace and seam binding are from Craft Heaven and the number 8 is from my stash.
I used the pennant flags Doohickey from Volume 5, cut from white card and one of the Maja Design papers and also added some red flags to it for some variety.
I used a gorgeous straw from Craft Heaven to represent show jumping fence poles and a couple of roses to the side of the image.  In the corners of the card I used the Wedding Lace doohickey from the You Are Invited collection.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join our challenge at Craft Heaven.  Pop over to the blog for more inspiration.  Thanks for looking! x

Christmas in April

Good morning!  Today's piece for Craft Heaven is another Christmas card.  I'm doing well so far keeping to my promise of making one a month - I've only missed February!  I'm determined not to have that last minute dash this year!  This time I've made a shaker card - I just love these at Christmas!
I had to use Frozen Tilda - she reminds me so much of the snowman shaped 'snow globe' we had when I was a child.  I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and used the Old Swedish Church from the A Christmas Story collection to create the scene behind her.
To create the frame for the shaker card I used the snow scene Doohickey Kit Volume 2 but spaced the top and bottom apart to make it big enough to surround the scene.  I've then used the snowflake border from the same kit and the bottom of the snow scene again to create the front of the card.
I also used the off cut stars from the top of the snow scene to create a sprinkling of stars next to the sentiment.
The sentiment is from the Starlight Kit and I have embossed it with silver embossing powder.
I created the flower spray with flowers and berries from my stash and some leaves and twigs cut with dies from Volume 2.
The gorgeous lace is from Kraft Heaven and so is the Maja Design paper.
Here's Tilda in a snowstorm when you shake the card!
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
